Ann Arbor Skyline Loses To Jackson 2-1

Zackery Surber leads the way with a goal and Jackson allows few shots to achieve victory on the road

Defenses slugged it out, but Jackson won against Ann Arbor Skyline 2 - 1 at Optimist Srena on Saturday. Jackson scored two straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Jackson retained its lead. Ann Arbor Skyline failed to take the lead in the third period even though they scored one goal, and ended up losing the game.

In the first period, coming through for Jackson, Zackery Surber scored a goal with 7:34 left in the period. Logan Everett got the assist on the goal. Then Grant Denton put the biscuit over the goal line with 4:38 left on the clock. Rourke Carroll got the assist on the goal, expanding their lead. In the third period, Ann Arbor Skyline got things going when Yishai Ribon got the puck past goalie Michael Bail with an assist from Randy Strassburg with 3:45 left on the clock.

Zackery Surber and Grant Denton each added one goal for Jackson. Everett and Carroll each tallied one assist for Jackson.

Yishai Ribon added one goal for Ann Arbor Skyline.

Leading the way for Jackson, Michael Bail stopped 15 shots for the win. Despite having a huge impact in the game, Ann Arbor Skyline's Ethan Hiltner blocked 49 out of 51 shots on goal to suffer the loss.

This was the season opener for Jackson.
