In a lopsided victory, Houghton won against L'Anse 8 - 1 at DEE Stadium on Thursday. Houghton and L'Anse both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Houghton gained four goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. L'Anse were not able to answer back. In the final period Houghton scored three straight goals adding to the margin of victory and winning the game.

Houghton's Marcus Gloss had nine saves on 10 shots to earn the win. L'Anse's Jason Rank had just 59 saves on 67 shots to get the loss.

L'Anse ended the game with a record of 2 wins and 9 losses.
