HANCOCK - Two goals apiece from Wade Hanke and Hunter Kero helped Hancock hold off Traverse City Central 6-4 as part of the Rick Miller Memorial at Houghton County Arena Friday night.

The Bulldogs bagged three quick goals in the first period from Hayden Heikkinen, Kero and Hanke for a 3-0 lead after just 13 minutes, then played cat-and-mouse with the Trojans the rest of the way.

Central scored late in the first and early in the second to close within a goal, but a Brett Lepisto tally at 7:56 of the second helped Hancock take a 4-3 lead back to the second intermission.

In the third Hanke and Kero scored again 1:38 apart early in the period to give Hancock its insurance, canceling out the hat trick goal for the Trojans' Cam Givens.

Lepisto had a pair of assists and goaltender Jacob Givens made 24 saves for Hancock (3-0-1).

The Bulldogs face Traverse City West today at 3 p.m.
