Bulldogs mercy Flivvers

HANCOCK - Hancock scored twice on the power play, twice shorthanded and four times at even strength, for a mercy-rule shortened 8-0 win over Kingsford in Great Lakes Hockey Conference play Friday.

Brett Lepisto and Dylan Paavola scored to give Hancock a 2-0 lead after one before Wade Hanke and Alex Hill tallied on the same Kingsford power play for a 4-0 lead just past midway. Zach Ahola added a pair of power-play goals, including the one that dropped the curtain on the game, with 8:38 to play.

William Lucier made eight saves for Hancock (13-6-3, 5-2-2 GLHC). The Bulldogs host Escanaba in a league game today at 1 p.m.

Escanaba 4, Calumet 1

CALUMET - Escanaba won its first game at the Calumet Colosseum since 1999 Friday, as a pair of Levi Wunder goals helped the Eskymos to a Great Lakes Hockey Conference win.

Tyler Loukus had the only tally for Calumet, which falls to 6-17-1 overall, 4-7 in the GLHC.

Calumet plays at Marquette Thursday.
