Forest Hills Central High School Boys Varsity Hockey beat Midland Dow H.S. 4-3

Forest HIlls Central defeated Midland Dow 4-3 to improve to 5-0 on the season. Midland Dow led after the 1st period 1-0 when Nathan Painter picked off a pass slid it over to Garret Brillhart who found Shane Astrike in the slot with a one timer beating FHC netminder Drake Deering. Forest Hills Central came out fired up in the 2nd period scoring 4 goals to take a 4-1 lead. The first goal came at 2:16 with Zack Currie taking a pass from Nicko Withey and Nick Sarjeant tying the game at one apiece. Forest Hills Central kept the pressure on Midland Dow with Connor Foresman beating netminder Seamus Belisle for a 2-1 Ranger lead. One minute later Nicko Withey beat the defender wide slid the puck over to Zack Currie who found an open Jack Bowling for a 3-1 lead. Forest Hills Central took control scoring their 4th goal a couple minutes later on their Power Play. Nick Sarjeant scored top shelf from the point with assists going to Zack Currie and Jack Bowling. Midland Dow would not go away in the 3rd period as they scored a Power Play goal 49 seconds In cutting the lead to 4-2. Less then 5-minutes later Midland Dow scored to pull within one goal with 12 minutes left to play. Drake Deering made some key saves late in the game as Midland Dow pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and the Rangers were able to run out the clock for the victory. Forest Hills Central takes on #1 Ranked Flint Powers Catholic and Big Rapids in their next two games.
