Forest Hills Central Varsity hockey was back to work for their 3rd game in 4 nights taking on a fired up East Kentwood Falcons opponent in an OK Conference Tier 1 battle.

The Rangers would come out firing on all cylinders but East Kentwood goalie Trevor Stephenson was up for the task making many big saves until Nicko Withey found the back of the net after taking two nice passes from Jack Bowling and Zak Currie to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead after the 1st period.

The Rangers came out flying in the 2nd period trying to extend their lead but Stephenson and the Falcons defense were up for the challenge until Mackey Withey took the puck the length of the ice slid it to Nicko Withey who made a perfect pass to Jack Bowling who one timed it past the sprawling Falcons netminder.

Forest Hills Central continued their defensive game plan into the 3rd period holding the Falcons to 10 shots until 2:10 left in the game Brady Strabel found a loose puck in front of Ranger Netmider Drake Deering and buried it top shelf to close the gap to 2-1. Both teams would utilize their timeouts in the last 2-minutes of the game as the Falcons pulled their goalie but we’re unable to get past the Ranger defense as the clock expired for a 2-1 Ranger win.

With the win Forest Hills Central improves to 14-1-1 on the season and 7-0 in Conference play. Ranger Netminder Drake Deering earned the victory making 11 saves.
