#2 Division 3 ranked Rangers defeat #8 Division 2 Wildcats 1-0 in a tightknit affair at the Chelsea Artic Coliseum in their second game at the 2017 Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase.

Both teams were up for the late season test, as the goaltenders shined with Rangers netminder Drake Deering and Wildcats netminder Brendan Olepa keeping both their respected teams off the board throughout the majority of the game.

Remaining scoreless after 2-periods, the loan goal would come midway in the 3rd period.  With a loose puck near the sideboards in the Wildcats zone, Rangers forward Jesse Hall would win the race throwing a pass to the front of the net where Cole Ott tipped it towards the goal, where Bryce Gerondale hammered it in to put the Rangers up 1-0.

With the pressure on the Wildcats and time of the essence the Rangers had to anchor down defensively to hold off the late surge.  Deering continued to shut the door and the Rangers skated away with a tough fought shutout battle over the Wildcats.

The Rangers improved to 17-1-2 overall
