Brother Rice alum and Miami (OH) Freshman earns NCHC honors

After scoring the first and second goals of his young NCAA career this past weekend, Jack Clement (Brother Rice, 2017) was named the NCHC’s Rookie of the Week for Miami (OH). The Freshman defender scored to tie the game 1-1 in the first period of their Friday night game against Colgate. He followed that up with another first-period goal in Saturday’s contest; a 2-0 shutout in favor of Miami as they improve to 2-3-2 on the season.

Clement now has five points this season, second on the team among defensemen and one-of-two to find the back of the net thus far.

A three-year letterman and former captain at Brother Rice, Clement is one-of-44 MI-HS alumni active on Division-I NCAA rosters this winter. Of the 60 programs, 23 have at least one alum on their roster with in-state schools Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech and Ferris State leading the way with four each.
