MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY DAY!

Coaches, we want to start an annual event this year called Michigan High School Hockey Day to bring more attention and media and fan focus to our great game. We know it's late notice but this Saturday, December 14th, we plan to promote and celebrate the first-ever Michigan High School Hockey Day! There are about 55 games and two showcases - the KLAA/MIHL showcase in Livonia and the D-3 Showcase in Gaylord - on the 14th. We are excited to announce this effort to bring the hockey community closer together by working with all constituencies within our game based on the ideals of sportsmanship, respect and relationships! We are asking for your help to promote this by sharing with the media in your area, letting your school know and by using social media hashtags like #Respect and #MIHSHockeyDay.

Our State Champs podcast will be done live at the the KLAA/MIHL Showcase. Also at the Showcase, prior to the start of each game, the official will take the microphone and say a few words about who they are, why they stay involved with the game and why they enjoy officiating Michigan high school hockey games. The goal of this is so that coaches, players and fans realize we all desire to do our part to make high school hockey in Michigan great!

We hope you like this idea and agree that we all need to work together to make high school hockey in Michigan even greater! Please spread the word to help make this a great day for high school hockey! Thanks for reading and please email us with any thoughts or ideas!
