On Wednesday, Nick Trela (Trenton, 2017) announced his commitment to join NCAA St. Lawrence University of the ECAC for the 2020-21 season.

Trela played his sophomore and junior seasons with the Trojans, totaling nine goals and 18 points in 56 games. During that time, he shared the ice with former teammate and soon-to-be fellow D-I athlete Quinn Preston (Trenton, 2016), who’s now a sophomore at Ohio State. After Trela’s time with the Trojans, he spent two seasons in the 18U T1EHL before playing the last two seasons in the NAHL with Amarillo.
As an alternate captain, Trela is one-of-five MI-HS alumni to play for Amarillo this season, where he’s totaled 10 goals and 29 points in 38 games for the first-place Bulls.
