In a tight contest, GR Forest Hills Central beat Rockford 5 - 3 at East Kentwood Ice Arena on Saturday. Rockford chalked up one goal to take the lead in the first period. Both teams chalked up two goals in the second period but Rockford kept the lead. Rockford was on top three to two, however GR Forest Hills Central had other ideas. GR Forest Hills Central engineered a comeback in the third period with three goals, winning in the end.
Rockford's Jake Rekucki finished with 21 saves and got the loss.
Despite losing Rockford was 1-for-4 on power plays, while GR Forest Hills Central was 0-for-0.
This was the first game of the season for GR Forest Hills Central.
