Isaac Lippert gets a goal while Grandville looks to the defense to prevail in a close game

In a tightly contested game, Grandville got the better of Portage Central 3 - 1 at Georgetown Ice Arena on Friday. Neither team managed to score in the first period. No one scored in the second period either. In the third period, the offenses finally got going when Grandville outscored Portage Central three to one and took the lead to claim the late win.

Isaac Lippert, Matt Shultz, and Ryan Fischer each added one goal for Grandville. Segard tallied one assist for Grandville.

Showing a super performance, Grandville's Sean Schmeiser finished with 38 saves to earn the win.

Portage Central finished the game with a record of 0-2.
