Josh Koepplinger rips two goals and Freeland/Nouvel/Valley clamps down to get the narrow win

In a tight contest, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley won against Mt. Pleasant 5 - 3 at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena on Saturday. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley outscored Mt. Pleasant two to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. In the second, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley scored two goals to Mt. Pleasant's one and kept the lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Freeland/Nouvel/Valley kept the lead for the win.

Having a huge day, Josh Koepplinger netted two goals for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley as well as two assists. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Chantz Graham netted two goals for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley. Ryan Collins tallied one goal for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley.

Having a huge impact in the game, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Brandon Hausbeck stopped 30 out of 33 shots to gain the win.

This was the first game of the season for Mt. Pleasant but Freeland/Nouvel/Valley entered the game with a record of 2-0.
