Jacob Ryan gets a hat trick, Chelsea out defends to win and shut down the other side

In a shutout game, Chelsea prevailed over Jackson Lumen Christi 7 - zip at Arctic Coliseum on Saturday. Chelsea racked up one unanswered goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Chelsea gained four goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Jackson Lumen Christi were not able to answer back. In the final period Chelsea scored two goals adding to the margin of victory and winning the game.

Displaying a great scoring touch, Jacob Ryan netted the hat trick with three goals and also had one helper. Chelsea's Ryan Ryan scored a goal without any assistance. Chelsea never lost the lead after that. During the second period, Ryan put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Caleb Bentley and Eric Newman. Pounding the defense, Ryan netted another goal in the third period with assists from Connor Carry and Ted Darr. Having a great day, Taylor Atchley made two goals for Chelsea and also two assists. During the second period, Atchley put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Brody Layher and Caleb Bentley. Piercing though the defense, Atchley lit the lamp in the second period with assists from Joey Olmsted and Brody Layher. Alec Daman and Mack Sullivan each tallied one goal for Chelsea.

Leading the way to a shutout for Chelsea, Charlie Miller blocked 15 out of 15 shots on goal to get the win.

Adding to their victory, Chelsea was 1-for-2 on power plays. Jackson Lumen Christi went 0-for-1.

This was the season opener for Jackson Lumen Christi but Chelsea entered the game with a record of 6-0.
