Player One rips the hat trick, L'Anse Creuse scores game winning goal in the third to win a close game

In a hard fought match up, L'Anse Creuse won against Troy Athens 5 - 4 on Saturday. L'Anse Creuse and Troy Athens both scored two goals to end the first period tied. Both teams scored two goals in the second period and remained tied. The end of the second period saw both teams at four goals each. L'Anse Creuse added one goal in the third period to break the tie and take the lead, grabbing a late victory.

Turning in a great performance for L'Anse Creuse, Player One scored the hat trick with five goals. Making it happen on the ice for L'Anse Creuse, One lit the lamp without assistance with 12:07 left in the first period. Pushing forward, L'Anse Creuse's One put the puck in the net without assistance with 5:13 left in the first period. L'Anse Creuse pierced the defense when One scored a third goal without any assistance with 15:02 left in the second period. Rolling on, L'Anse Creuse's One scored an unassisted goal with 11:40 left in the second period. Steaming onward, One lit the lamp without assistance from team mates with 1:03 left in the third period.

L'Anse Creuse's Player Two had 23 saves on 27 shots to get the win. Troy Athens's Jeff Merola had just 25 saves on 30 shots and got the loss.

Despite losing Troy Athens went 3-for-9 on power plays, while L'Anse Creuse was 0-for-9.

This was the season opener for L'Anse Creuse.
