Mitchell Parsons connects for two goals and Grandville shines on defense to get the shutout win

Shutting out the competition, Grandville got the better of Hudsonville 5 - zero at Georgetown Ice Arena on Saturday. Neither team managed to get on the scoreboard in the first period. Grandville took the lead in the second period with two straight goals. Hudsonville's fate was sealed. In the final period Grandville scored three unanswered goals piling on and winning the game.

Grandville's Mitchell Parsons scored two goals for Grandville and also had one assist. Grandville's Brandon Rozema got two goals for Grandville. Ryan Fischer contributed one goal for Grandville.

Leading the way to a shutout for Grandville, Sean Schmeiser stopped 12 out of 12 shots for the win.

This was the season opener for Hudsonville but Grandville entered the game with a record of 2-3.
