Kevin Hansen on fire with a hat trick and Petoskey a defensive stronghold to get a big win

In a rout, Petoskey defeated Gladwin 9 - 1 at Gladwin Community Arena on Friday. Petoskey racked up four goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. As the second period unfolded, Petoskey outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead. Petoskey's defense shut down Gladwin for the rest of the game. In the final period Petoskey scored three goals sealing the deal and winning the game.

Having an outstanding day for Petoskey, Kevin Hansen made the hat trick with three goals and also had one helper. Petoskey's Hansen put the biscuit into the net for a power play goal in the first period. Nick Trombley and Mike Forton assisted on this goal. Pounding the defense, Hansen put the biscuit over the goal line for a power play goal in the first period. Brandon Pomranke and Tanner Davis assisted on this goal. In addition, Hansen put the puck between the pipes in the second period with an assist from Tim Sysko. Mike Forton, Tom Crampton, Ben Schwartzfisher, Tanner Davis, Cam Ludlow, and Derek Smith each contributed one goal for Petoskey.

Having a standout day, Petoskey's Adam McCain finished with 10 saves to earn the win.

Petoskey now has a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. Gladwin finished the game with a record of 0-2.
