Mac Slowik on fire with a goal as Southgate Anderson shuts down shooters to squeak by for the win

Andrew Witz scored the game winner with 0:06 left in the first period, as Southgate Anderson overcame Saline Metro 3 - 1 at Southgate Civic Center on Wednesday. Southgate Anderson tallied up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Southgate Anderson gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Southgate Anderson kept the lead for the win.

In the first period, paving the way for Southgate Anderson, Andrew Witz put the biscuit over the goal line with 0:06 left on the clock. Matt Cooper and Jonah Peryam got the assists on the goal. This sealed Southgate Anderson's victory. In the second period, next, Mac Slowik lit the lamp with assists from Nick Spagnol and Chris Dusik, with 6:20 left on the clock, pulling further ahead. In the third period, Southgate Anderson found more success on the ice when Kelly O'Brien Jr. got the puck in the goal with assists from Andrew Witz and Matt Cooper with 12:50 left in the period, pulling further ahead. Saline Metro pushed back when Matt Nyrkkanen put the puck between the pipes with 1:58 left on the clock. Owen Helber and Tyler Palka got the assists on the goal.

Andrew Witz scored one goal for Southgate Anderson and also had one helper. Mac Slowik and Kelly O'Brien Jr. each contributed one goal for Southgate Anderson. Matt Cooper made two points. Dusik, Peryam, and Spagnol each tallied one assist for Southgate Anderson.

Matt Nyrkkanen contributed one goal for Saline Metro.

Having a huge impact in the game, Southgate Anderson's Chris Dusik made 17 saves to take the win. Despite having a great day, Saline Metro's Alex Colarossi had 28 saves on 31 shots to suffer the loss.

Saline Metro finished the game with a record of 1-3.
