Tyler Layle slaps a goal while East Kentwood looks to the defense to squeak by for the win on the road

Tyler Layle netted the game-winning goal with 14:35 left in the second period, as East Kentwood beat Grand Haven 3 - 2 at Hollands Edge on Saturday. Grand Haven chalked up one goal to take the lead in the first period. East Kentwood took over the lead in the second period with two unanswered goals. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but East Kentwood kept the lead for the win.

In the first period, Grand Haven made it happen on the ice when Grand Haven scored a goal. In the second period, in reply, East Kentwood's Alex Birkman lit the lamp with 16:12 left on the clock. Jake Gale got the assist on the goal, to make the score even. East Kentwood fired up their game when Tyler Layle put the biscuit over the goal line with 14:35 left on the clock. Jake Gale got the assist on the goal, moving into the lead. This sealed the victory for East Kentwood. In the third period, adding another score for East Kentwood, Austin Adams got a goal with 16:11 left in the period. Adam Goudelock got the assist on the goal, expanding their lead. Grand Haven pushed back when Grand Haven scored a goal.

Tyler Layle, Alex Birkman, and Austin Adams each tallied one goal for East Kentwood. Jake Gale earned two helpers. Goudelock contributed one assist for East Kentwood.

Having a huge impact in the game, East Kentwood's Zack Casavant stopped 20 out of 22 shots to get the win.

East Kentwood added to their current win streak of three games and ended the game with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss. Grand Haven suffered their first loss and ended the game with a record of 1-1.
