Shutting out the competition, Calumet Copper Kings defeated Hancock 5 - zip at Mountain View Ice Arena on Thursday. Calumet Copper Kings racked up two goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Calumet Copper Kings gained three straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. It would prove to be too much for Hancock. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Calumet Copper Kings conserved its lead, and was the winner.

Lucas Lahnala, Matthew Prouty, Eric Mattila, Bryce Johnson, and Robert Erkkila each added one goal for Calumet Copper Kings.

Leading the way to a shutout for Calumet Copper Kings, Brian Rogers finished with 17 saves to get the win.

Calumet Copper Kings ended their streak of two losing games and improved to a record of 6-4. Hancock finished the game with a record of 1 win and 5 losses.
