Salem Squeaks Past Midland 7-5

Jake Sealy knocks the hat trick while Salem scores three goals in the first, goes on to squeak by for the win

Jason Newel scored the game winner with 16:28 left in the first period, as Salem was superior against Midland 7 - 5 at Centre Ice Arena on Thursday. Salem outscored Midland three to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. In the middle period, Midland outscored their opponents by one goal however Salem kept its lead. In the third period, Salem outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead to win the game.

Leading the way to a win for Salem, Jake Sealy got the hat trick with three goals and also had one point. Coming through for Salem, Sealy Sealy netted a goal with an assist from Nick Danis. Continuing their roll, Sealy put the biscuit into the net in the first period with assists from Noah Willer and Colin Pietron. During the third period, Sealy put the puck in the net with assists from Noah Willer and Nick Danis. Salem's Noah Saad got two goals for Salem. Paving the way for Salem, Saad put the puck between the pipes for a power play goal in the second period with an assist from Alek Zultowski. Jack Driscoll and Jason Newel each tallied one goal for Salem.

Salem's Anthony Veresan had just 26 saves on 31 shots to take the win.

Salem went 2-for-3 on power plays.

Midland finished the game with a record of 0-2.
