Ian Melrose shoots two goals and Berkley Unified out defends to win decisively

In a lopsided victory, Berkley Unified prevailed against Macomb Luthern North 9 - 1 at Berkley Arena on Thursday. Berkley Unified tallied up five goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. In the second period, Berkley Unified outscored Macomb Luthern North four to one and kept the lead. Macomb Luthern North's fate was sealed. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Berkley Unified protected its lead, and was the winner.

Having a huge day, Ian Melrose made two goals for Berkley Unified as well as two assists. Berkley Unified's Melrose put the biscuit into the net in the first period. Joey Leider assisted on this goal. Melrose put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance. Nolan Young, Riley Lenhard, Joey Leider, Shane Goldberg, Robby Flannery, Max Dooley, and Gianni Bonello each tallied one goal for Berkley Unified.

Berkley Unified's Robbie MacDonald stopped three shots for the win.

Contributing to their win, Berkley Unified went 1-for-1 on power plays. Macomb Luthern North went 0-for-1.
