Joey Leider shines with a hat trick and Berkley Unified a defensive stronghold to win

Berkley Unified was superior against New Boston Huron 6 - 2 at Berkley Ice Arena on Friday. Berkley Unified outscored New Boston Huron three to two to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. Berkley Unified gained two unanswered goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Berkley Unified's defense shut down New Boston Huron for the rest of the game. In the final period Berkley Unified scored one goal adding to their overall lead and winning the game.

Turning in a great performance for Berkley Unified, Joey Leider scored the hat trick with four goals and also had one point. Paving the way for Berkley Unified, Leider scored a goal in the first period with assists from Max Dooley and Ian Melrose. Piling on, Leider netted another goal in the first period with an assist from Ian Melrose. Berkley Unified was ahead from then on. Pushing forward, Berkley Unified's Leider scored a power play goal in the second period. Shane Goldberg got the assist on this goal. Continuing their roll, Leider put the puck between the pipes in the third period with an assist from Ian Melrose. Max Dooley and Curtis Carne each added one goal for Berkley Unified.

Berkley Unified went 1-for-2 on power plays. New Boston Huron was 0-for-4.

Berkley Unified now has a record of 9-3. New Boston Huron ended the game with a record of 0-3.
