Kurt Latshaw leads the way with a goal, Lake Orion out defends to get a narrow victory

Josh Gould netted the game-winning goal with 7:49 left in the third period, as Lake Orion won against GR Catholic Central 3 - 2 at Detroit Skate Club Rink "B" on Saturday. Lake Orion chalked up one goal to take the lead in the first period. Lake Orion gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. In the third period GR Catholic Central outscored Lake Orion 2 to 1 however Lake Orion kept its lead, and won the game.

In the first period, Lake Orion's Kurt Latshaw put the puck in the net with assists from Jake Briskey and Mark Nylen with 8:07 left on the clock. In the second period, then Ryan Szydlowski netted a goal with assists from Ben Bock and Alex Giwa, with 7:00 left in the period, adding to their lead. In the third period, in response, GR Catholic Central's Connor Saukas netted a goal with assists from Brian Cain and Jeff Gorski with 10:18 left on the clock. Steaming onward, GR Catholic Central's Tyler Kersjes netted a goal with assists from Brian Cain and Paul Broadbent, with 8:08 left on the clock, to make the game tied at 2 to 2. Lake Orion charged back when Josh Gould netted a goal with 7:49 left in the period. Drew Casey and Ryan Szydlowski assisted on the goal, grabbing the lead and winning..

Ryan Szydlowski netted one goal for Lake Orion and also had one helper. Kurt Latshaw and Josh Gould each contributed one goal for Lake Orion. Casey, Giwa, Bock, Briskey, and Nylen each added one assist for Lake Orion.

Lake Orion's Rollie Pouget had 12 saves to take the win. GR Catholic Central's Paul Broadbent blocked 15 out of 18 shots on goal and so suffered the loss.

GR Catholic Central finished the game with a record of 2-6.
