Ben Schwartzfisher nets a goal as Petoskey allows few shots to win the game

Petoskey handed a loss to Manistee 4 - 1 at West Shore Community Ice Arena on Saturday. Petoskey racked up one unanswered goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Petoskey added one unanswered goal in the second period and held on to its lead. In the third period, Petoskey outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead to win the game.

In the first period, Petoskey's Aaron Cook lit the lamp with an assist from Ben Schwartzfisher, with 2:01 left in the period. Petoskey never lost the lead after that. In the second period, next, Ben Schwartzfisher put the puck in the net with 3:12 left in the period. Brandon Pomranke and Aaron Cook assisted on the goal, to move further ahead. In the third period, continuing the roll, Derek Smith scored a goal with an assist from Ben Schwartzfisher with 12:36 left on the clock, moving further into the lead. In reply, Manistee's Manistee scored a goal. In reply, Petoskey's Brandon Pomranke scored a goal with an assist from Skye Pieffer, with 3:44 left on the clock, pulling further ahead.

Ben Schwartzfisher netted one goal for Petoskey in addition to two assists. Brandon Pomranke made one goal for Petoskey and also had one assist. Aaron Cook got one goal for Petoskey and also had one helper. Derek Smith tallied one goal for Petoskey. Pieffer added one assist for Petoskey.

Petoskey used two goaltenders in their win. Having a perfect day, Petoskey's Adam McCain finished with 10 saves for the win. Petoskey's Breanna Merriam turned away nine shots to take the win.

Petoskey ended their streak of three losing games and improved to a record of 6 wins and 5 losses. Manistee finished the game with a record of 0-3.
