In an offensive shootout, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley triumphed over Goodrich 12 - 8 at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena on Wednesday. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley outscored Goodrich seven to five to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. In the middle period, Goodrich outscored their opponents however Freeland/Nouvel/Valley kept its lead. In the last period, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley scored four goals to Goodrich's 1 and kept the lead to win the game.
Turning in a great performance for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley, Josh Koepplinger got the hat trick with five goals and also had one point. In well played offense, Ben Rybicki netted two goals for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley as well as four points. Joe Rybicki, Wyatt Hundley, Allan Frank, Robert Brennan, and Chantz Graham each added one goal for Freeland/Nouvel/Valley.
Freeland/Nouvel/Valley used two goaltenders in their win. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Brandon Hausbeck had only 22 saves on 27 shots on goal to gain the win. In a less than spectacular performance in the goal, Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Andre Danek blocked one out of four shots on goal.
Freeland/Nouvel/Valley added to their current win streak of two games and now has a record of 14-0. Goodrich ended the game with a record of 0-3.
