Hunter Angus slaps a goal while Rockford out defends to get the narrow victory

In a close game, Rockford triumphed over Mattawan 3 - 1 at Griff's Ice House on Wednesday. Neither team managed to get the puck in the net in the first period. Rockford gained two unanswered goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Rockford kept the lead for the win.

Jacob Smyth got one goal for Rockford and also had one helper. Hunter Angus and Noah Brayton each added one goal for Rockford. Mills, Sokol, and Shira each added one assist for Rockford.

Having a standout day, Rockford's Jake Rekucki finished with 17 saves to gain the win.

Rockford added to their current win streak of two games and ended up with a record of 9 wins and 5 losses. Mattawan ended the game with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.
