Shutting out the competition, Traverse City West won against Gaylord 5 - zero at Howe Arena on Friday. Traverse City West racked up one unanswered goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Traverse City West gained four straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Traverse City West's defense shut down Gaylord for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Traverse City West conserved its lead, and was the winner.
