In a hard fought match up, Petoskey won against Traverse City St. Francis 5 - 4 at Griffin Arena on Wednesday. Petoskey racked up two straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. In the second, Petoskey outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead. In the final period Traverse City St. Francis outscored Petoskey 3 to 1 however Petoskey kept its lead, and won the game.

Turning in a great performance for Petoskey, Ben Schwartzfisher got the hat trick with three goals. Skye Pieffer and Tanner Davis each added one goal for Petoskey.

Petoskey's Michael Whittaker made 31 saves to earn the win. Traverse City St. Francis's Jay Jones had just 12 saves on 17 shots and so suffered the loss.

Petoskey ended the game with a record of 7-6. Traverse City St. Francis ended the game with a record of 4-10.
