Chelsea Shuts Out Monroe 9-0

Jacob Ryan leads the way with the hat trick as Chelsea shuts down shooters to shut down the other side

In a shutout game, Chelsea overcame Monroe 9 - zero at Arctic Coliseum on Wednesday. Chelsea racked up four straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Chelsea gained five goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Chelsea's defense shut down Monroe for the rest of the game. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Chelsea conserved its lead, and was the winner.

Having an outstanding day for Chelsea, Jacob Ryan made the hat trick with three goals and also had one point. Getting started, Ryan put the puck in the net in the first period. Josh Cogswell got the assist on this goal. Chelsea kept up the momentum when Ryan Ryan put the biscuit into the net with assists from Connor Carry and Caleb Bentley. In addition, Ryan put the biscuit into the net in the second period. Connor Carry assisted on this goal. Alec Daman, Taylor Atchley, Weston Barnes, Ted Darr, Matt Walz, and Chase Barnes each contributed one goal for Chelsea.

Racking up saves in the box, Chelsea's Charlie Miller stopped seven shots to gain the win.

Chelsea added to their current win streak of three games and ended up with a record of 14 wins and 3 losses. Monroe ended the game with a record of 0-8.
