In a hard fought match up, Gladwin beat Freeland/Nouvel/Valley 6 - 5 at Midland County Civic Arena on Wednesday. Gladwin outscored Freeland/Nouvel/Valley two to one to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. In the second, Gladwin outscored Freeland/Nouvel/Valley three to two and kept the lead. In the third period Freeland/Nouvel/Valley outscored Gladwin 2 to 1 however Gladwin kept its lead, and won the game.

Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Brandon Hausbeck had only 23 saves on 29 shots on goal for the loss.

Despite losing Freeland/Nouvel/Valley was 2-for-3 on power plays, while Gladwin went 0-for-0.

Gladwin ended their losing streak of four games and improved to a record of 1-6. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley suffered their first loss and ended the game with a record of 14-1.
