Petoskey Dominates Cheboygan 9-3

Skye Pieffer shoots two goals as Petoskey shines on defense to win by a wide margin

In a blowout game, Petoskey got the better of Cheboygan 9 - 3 at Griffin Arena on Wednesday. Petoskey chalked up three goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. As the second period unfolded, Petoskey outscored their opponents by four goals and kept the lead. In the final period Cheboygan outscored Petoskey 2 to 1 however Petoskey kept its lead, and won the game.

Petoskey's Skye Pieffer scored two goals for Petoskey. Petoskey's Pieffer lit the lamp in the second period. Luke Pomranke and Kevin Hansen assisted on this goal. Pieffer netted a second goal with an assist from Tanner Davis. Petoskey's Ken Forton netted two goals for Petoskey. Petoskey's Forton scored a goal without any assistance in the first period. Petoskey kept going when Forton lit the lamp in the second period with an assist from Aaron Cook. Petoskey's Kevin Hansen got two goals for Petoskey and also had one helper. Hansen put the biscuit over the goal line. Aaron Cook assisted on this goal. It proved too much for Petoskey. Adding another score for Petoskey, Hansen put the puck between the pipes for a power play goal in the second period. Aaron Cook and Ben Schwartzfisher got the assists on this goal. Ben Schwartzfisher, Tanner Davis, and Aaron Cook each added one goal for Petoskey.

Petoskey's Michael Whittaker made 21 saves for the win.

Petoskey added to their current win streak of two games and ended up with a record of 10-7. Cheboygan ended the game with a record of 3 wins and 4 losses.
