Cam Scharret is leader with two goals as Rochester Stoney Creek effective on defense to get the win

Rochester Stoney Creek won against St. Clair Shores Unified 5 - 1 at St. Clair Shores Civic Center on Wednesday. Rochester Stoney Creek outscored St. Clair Shores Unified two to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. Rochester Stoney Creek added one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. St. Clair Shores Unified were not able to answer back. In the final period Rochester Stoney Creek scored two unanswered goals adding to their overall lead and winning the game.

In the first period, Rochester Stoney Creek put points on the board with their game when Cam Scharret netted a goal with 12:41 left in the period. Josh Niederhauser got the assist on the goal. It was the final straw for St. Clair Shores Unified. Keeping up the pressure, Chris Stanbury netted a goal with an assist from Hayden Richardson with 6:56 left in the period, expanding their lead. In the second period, next, Cam Scharret put the puck in the net without assistance with 13:19 left in the period, expanding their lead. Pounding the defense, Josh Niederhauser scored a goal with an assist from Cam Scharret, with 9:27 left in the period, to get further ahead. In the third period, continuing the roll, Rochester Stoney Creek's Nick Wojno put the puck between the pipes with assists from Cam Scharret and Josh Niederhauser, with 9:17 left in the period, to get further ahead.

Showing off a strong stick, Cam Scharret made two goals for Rochester Stoney Creek and also two points. Josh Niederhauser made one goal for Rochester Stoney Creek as well as two assists. Nick Wojno and Chris Stanbury each tallied one goal for Rochester Stoney Creek. Richardson contributed one assist for Rochester Stoney Creek.

Having a standout day, Rochester Stoney Creek's Matt Wojno turned away 22 shots to get the win.

Adding to their victory, Rochester Stoney Creek was 1-for-6 on power plays.
