Northville Beaten By Macomb Dakota 3-2 In Overtime

Sammy Shaheen impresses with two goals while Macomb Dakota effective on defense to survive on the road, takes winning streak to 16 games

Marc DiGrande scored the game-winning goal with 0:30 left in overtime, as Macomb Dakota finished off Northville 3 - 2 at Novi on Friday. Northville tallied up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Macomb Dakota added one goal in the second period to tie the score. The end of the second period saw both teams at one goal all. Both teams scored one goal in the third period and remained tied. In the overtime, Macomb Dakota scored one unanswered goal to finally get the win.

Coming through for Macomb Dakota, Sammy Shaheen scored an unassisted goal, with 5:28 left in the period. Northville charged back when Northville scored a goal, evening up the score at 1 apiece. In the second period, however then Macomb Dakota's Sammy Shaheen lit the lamp without assistance with 6:35 left in the period for Macomb Dakota, to go ahead. In the third period, Northville replied when Northville scored a goal, to tie up the score. Charging back, Macomb Dakota's Marc DiGrande put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Brad Schornak and Matt Riehl, with 0:30 left on the clock, to get ahead and win.

Having a good day, Sammy Shaheen netted two goals for Macomb Dakota. Marc DiGrande tallied one goal for Macomb Dakota. Riehl and Schornak each added one assist for Macomb Dakota.

Leading the way for Macomb Dakota, Anthony Benvenuti made 25 saves to take the win.

Macomb Dakota added to their current win streak of 15 games and now has a perfect record of 16-0. Northville ended the game with a record of 8-3.
