Dearborn Unified Defeated By Saline Metro 4-1

Zach Mitchell is leader with a goal and Saline Metro makes forwards' life difficult to prevail

Saline Metro defeated Dearborn Unified 4 - 1 at DISC on Friday. Saline Metro and Dearborn Unified both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Neither team scored in the second period so they continued to be tied. The second period closed with both teams at one goal each. Saline Metro took the lead in the third period with three unanswered goals and won the game.

In the first period, Dearborn Unified's Dearborn Unified scored a goal. Saline Metro answered back when Grant Ellis lit the lamp with 9:10 left in the period. Michael Phillips and Michael Savage assisted on the goal, bringing the game to a tie at 1 apiece. In the third period, Saline Metro turned up their power play game when Dino Tzavaras got a goal with assists from Matt Nyrkkanen and Owen Helber with 7:39 left on the clock, going ahead. This solidified the win for Saline Metro. Pushing forward, Saline Metro's Zach Mitchell netted a goal with assists from Ethan Peitz and Dino Tzavaras, with 4:15 left in the period, to go further ahead. Firing at the empty net, Saline Metro's Adam Haas lit the lamp without assistance from team mates with 1:39 left on the clock, to pull further ahead.

Dino Tzavaras made one goal for Saline Metro and also had one helper. Zach Mitchell, Adam Haas, and Grant Ellis each added one goal for Saline Metro. Helber, Peitz, Savage, Nyrkkanen, and Phillips each contributed one assist for Saline Metro.

Showing off a strong glove, Saline Metro's Chris Krueger made 14 saves to earn the win.

Saline Metro ended their streak of three losing games and ended up with a record of 3-7. Dearborn Unified finished the game with a record of 1-5.
