In a hard fought match up, Calumet Copper Kings won against Kingsford Flivvers 5 - 4 at Mountain View Ice Arena on Saturday. Calumet Copper Kings outscored Kingsford Flivvers two to one to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. In the second, Kingsford Flivvers outscored Calumet Copper Kings two to one to tie things up. The second period closed with both teams at three goals all. In the third period, Calumet Copper Kings outscored their opponents by one goal and took the lead to claim the late win.

Calumet Copper Kings's Eric Mattila netted two goals for Calumet Copper Kings. Lucas Lahnala, Brendan Jacques, and Reilly Schreiber each added one goal for Calumet Copper Kings.

Calumet Copper Kings's Troy Pierce finished with 31 saves. Kingsford Flivvers's Westley Paupore had just 36 saves on 41 shots and so suffered the loss.
