Brian Cain slams a goal while GR Catholic Central shines on defense to prevail

In a hard fought match up, GR Catholic Central prevailed over Rockford 4 - 2 at Griff's Ice House on Saturday. GR Catholic Central racked up two unanswered goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. GR Catholic Central added two goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Rockford added two goals in the third period but it was not enough to win the game.

Brian Cain got one goal for GR Catholic Central and also had one assist. Max Tierney, Andrew Wallick, and Connor Saukas each contributed one goal for GR Catholic Central. Wierda, Klapko, Gorski, Sullivan, and Shea each added one assist for GR Catholic Central.

Having a good day, Trevor Mills netted two goals for Rockford.

Showing a super performance, GR Catholic Central's Paul Broadbent stopped 32 out of 34 shots to earn the win. Multiple goalies were used by Rockford for the loss. Rockford's Todd Millar stopped 14 shots to suffer the loss. Despite racking up nothing but saves in the box, Rockford's Jake Rekucki turned away one shots.

Despite losing Rockford was 1-for-3 on power plays, while GR Catholic Central was 0-for-0.

GR Catholic Central ended their streak of three losing games and improved to a record of 3 wins and 8 losses. Rockford finished the game with a record of 9-7.
