Josh Bourque knocks a hat trick while Ann Arbor Skyline shines on defense to get the shutout victory

In a shutout, Ann Arbor Skyline prevailed against Macomb Luthern North 8 - zip at Great Lake Sports on Saturday. Neither team got the puck past the goalie in the first period. Ann Arbor Skyline gained eight goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. Macomb Luthern North were not able to answer back. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Ann Arbor Skyline protected its lead, and was the winner.

Displaying a great scoring touch, Josh Bourque scored the hat trick with four goals and also had one point. With 14:15 left to play in the second period Bourque put the biscuit into the net. Sam Stevens and Randy Strassburg got the assists on this goal. During the second period, with 13:10 left Bourque put the biscuit into the net for a power play goal with an assist from Randy Strassburg. Ann Arbor Skyline kept up the momentum when Bourque put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance with 5:38 left in the second period. Ann Arbor Skyline turned up the pressure when Bourque got an unassisted goal with 2:17 left in the second period.

Having a huge impact in the game, Ann Arbor Skyline's Ethan Hiltner stopped 15 out of 15 shots to get the win. Macomb Luthern North's Rocco Viviano had only 20 saves on 28 shots on goal to get the loss.

Macomb Luthern North ended the game with a record of 0-3.
