Rockford Beats Reeths-Puffer 5-1

Nate Rozegnal hits a goal while Rockford allows few shots to get a victory, ends loss streak

Rockford won against Reeths-Puffer 5 - 1 at Griff's Ice House on Saturday. Rockford tallied up two goals to take the lead in the first period. Both teams chalked up one goal in the second period but Rockford kept the lead for the win. Reeths-Puffer were not able to answer back. In the final period Rockford scored two consecutive goals improving its score and winning the game.

David Sokol made one goal for Rockford in addition to two assists. Stephen Shira made one goal for Rockford in addition to two points. Nate Rozegnal, Trevor Mills, and Jacob Smyth each contributed one goal for Rockford. Schwandt, Hill, Bathum, and Perry each contributed one assist for Rockford.

Josh Smith added one goal for Reeths-Puffer.

Displaying a golden glove, Rockford's Jake Rekucki stopped 27 out of 28 shots to earn the win. Reeths-Puffer's Aaron Andrews had just 20 saves on 25 shots and got the loss.

Rockford ended their streak of four losing games and ended up with a record of 10 wins and 9 losses. Reeths-Puffer suffered their first loss and ended the game with a record of 12-1.
