Rochester United Wins Close Game Against East Kentwood 4-2

Brent Boudreau is key with two goals and Rochester United relies on defense to win a close game

Brent Boudreau scored the game winner with 16:02 left in the second period, as Rochester United triumphed over East Kentwood 4 - 2 at Chelsea on Saturday. Rochester United and East Kentwood both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Rochester United took the lead in the second period with three goals. East Kentwood scored one goal in the third period but it was not enough to close the gap, so they lost the game.

In the first period, Rochester United got things going when Brent Boudreau put the puck in the net with assists from Kevin Kurzeja and Nick Marek with 15:51 left in the period. However then East Kentwood's Jake Gale got a goal with assists from Alex Birkman and Jan (Honza) Koluch, with 2:48 left in the period, to tie the game. In the second period, Rochester United answered back when Brent Boudreau lit the lamp with 16:02 left on the clock. Max Harper assisted on the goal, to take the lead at 2-1. Rochester United was in control from then on. Rochester United found more success on the ice when Jimmy Pittel got the unassisted goal, with 13:26 left in the period, going further ahead. In addition, Kevin Kurzeja netted a goal with assists from Alex Shell and Evan Asuncion, with 12:43 left in the period, adding to their lead. In the third period, East Kentwood charged back when Walker Aurand lit the lamp with 14:22 left in the period. Alex Birkman and Austin Adams got the assists on the goal.

Showing off a strong stick, Brent Boudreau got two goals for Rochester United. Kevin Kurzeja netted one goal for Rochester United and also had one assist. Jimmy Pittel contributed one goal for Rochester United. Marek, Asuncion, Shell, and Harper each tallied one assist for Rochester United.

Walker Aurand and Jake Gale each added one goal for East Kentwood.

Having a huge impact in the game, Rochester United's Brody Blair finished with 25 saves to get the win. East Kentwood's Zack Casavant finished with 27 saves and got the loss.

East Kentwood finished the game with a record of 10-10.
