John Linenger nets a goal and Traverse City West goes on the defensive to shut down the other side

In a shutout victory, Traverse City West triumphed over Midland 3 - zip at Trenton on Saturday. Traverse City West scored one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Traverse City West added two unanswered goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Traverse City West never looked back. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Traverse City West conserved its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Traverse City West got things going when Keeler Steele scored a goal with an assist from Collin Peters, with 1:42 left in the period. This was the knock out punch for Midland. In the second period, Traverse City West kept going when Jake Saxton got the puck in the goal with an assist from Collin Peters, with 12:57 left on the clock, adding to their lead. In the third period, piling on, John Linenger lit the lamp with assists from Nick Schultz and Max Jenner, with 14:30 left in the period, expanding their lead.

John Linenger, Keeler Steele, and Jake Saxton each contributed one goal for Traverse City West. Collin Peters had two points. Schultz and Jenner each contributed one assist for Traverse City West.

Racking up saves in the box, Traverse City West's Carter Edmondson stopped 25 shots to get the win.

Midland ended the game with a record of 3-3.
