South Lyon Unified shines on defense to outlast

In overtime, South Lyon Unified prevailed against Rochester Stoney Creek 3 - 2 at Chelsea Arctic Coliseum North Rink on Sunday. South Lyon Unified and Rochester Stoney Creek both scored one goal to end the first period tied. Rochester Stoney Creek took the lead in the second period with one goal. Rochester Stoney Creek was on top two to one, with South Lyon Unified's work cut out for them in the third period. South Lyon Unified began their comeback with one goal in the third period to tie the score at two and force a decision in OT. In the overtime, South Lyon Unified scored one unanswered goal to finally get the win.

Rochester Stoney Creek put points on the board with their game when Hayden Richardson put the biscuit over the goal line with an assist from Nolan Arbour, with 4:29 left in the period. On the other side, South Lyon Unified's South Lyon Unified scored a power play goal, to bring things to a tie at 1 to 1. Pushing back, Rochester Stoney Creek's Nick Kuntzman lit the lamp with 12:04 left in the period. Nathan Hilton got the assist on the goal, grabbing the lead by 1. In the second period, pushing forward, Rochester Stoney Creek's Nolan Arbour put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Josh Niederhauser, with 16:10 left in the period, to go further ahead. In the third period, not standing down, South Lyon Unified's South Lyon Unified scored a goal.

South Lyon Unified extended their winning streak to six games and now has a record of 7-5. Rochester Stoney Creek ended the game with a record of 8-8.
