Saline SEC Beats Pinckney 3-2 In OT

Antonio Diaz rips a goal as Saline SEC relies on defense to outlast

Adam Haas netted the game winner with 1:42 left in overtime, as Saline SEC beat Pinckney 3 - 2 at Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Tuesday. Pinckney scored one goal to take the lead in the first period. Pinckney added one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Pinckney was on top two to zero, but this wouldn't last. Mounting a comeback, Saline SEC went to work and evened up the score in the third period with two goals sending the game into OT. In the overtime, Saline SEC scored one unanswered goal nabbing the victory.

In the first period, Pinckney's Cooper Jenkins put the puck in the net with assists from Nolan Lefebvre and Chad Brewis, with 10:47 left on the clock. In the second period, picking apart the penalty kill, Pat Rogowski put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Nolan Lefebvre with 4:17 left on the clock, moving further into the lead. In the third period, charging back, Saline SEC's Antonio Diaz put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Ryan Blake-Jones and Tyler Baker, with 14:45 left on the clock. Saline SEC took advantage of the power play when Zach Mitchell got a goal with an assist from RJ Rogers with 7:13 left in the period, bringing the game to a tie. Pounding the defense, Adam Haas put the puck in the net with assists from Tyler Palka and Tyler Baker, with 1:42 left on the clock, to go ahead and win.

Antonio Diaz, Adam Haas, and Zach Mitchell each tallied one goal for Saline SEC. Tyler Baker got two helpers. Rogers, Palka, and Blake-Jones each added one assist for Saline SEC.

Cooper Jenkins and Pat Rogowski each contributed one goal for Pinckney.

Three goaltenders were in the crease for Saline SEC's win. Displaying a golden glove, Saline SEC's Chris Kreuger had 13 saves for the win. Saline SEC's Jacob Keefer finished with nine saves. Saline SEC's Alex Colarossi finished with seven saves.

Contributing to their win, Saline SEC was 1-for-3 on power plays. Pinckney went 0-for-5.

Pinckney finished the game with a record of 10-11.
