Lucas Lahnala knocks a hat trick, Calumet Copper Kings puts the squeeze on shooters to win and shut down the other side

In a shutout victory, Calumet Copper Kings won against Negaunee Miners 9 - 0 at Calumet Colosseum on Thursday. Calumet Copper Kings racked up six goals to take the lead in the first period. Calumet Copper Kings added three straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. The Calumet Copper Kings defense took over in the final period. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Calumet Copper Kings held on to its lead, and was the winner.

Showing strong scoring ability, Lucas Lahnala got the hat trick with four goals. Logan Lemler, Matthew Prouty, Eric Mattila, Brendan Jacques, and Robert Erkkila each tallied one goal for Calumet Copper Kings.

Leading the way to a shutout for Calumet Copper Kings, Brian Rogers made six saves to take the win. Multiple goaltenders were in the crease for Negaunee Miners's loss. Negaunee Miners's Anthony Moyle had only 30 saves on 36 shots on goal. Negaunee Miners's Tyler Riutta turned away five shots to suffer the loss.

Calumet Copper Kings added to their current win streak of two games and ended up with a record of 15 wins and 8 losses. Negaunee Miners ended the game with a record of 1 win and 5 losses.
