Salem Wins Over Howell 9-5

Alek Zultowski on fire with a hat trick, Salem scores four goals in the first, goes on to prevail, increases win-streak to 11 games

Salem defeated Howell 9 - 5 at Plymouth Cultural Center on Friday. Salem outscored Howell four to three to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. In the second period, Salem scored three goals to Howell's one and kept the lead. In the final period, Salem outscored Howell two to one and kept the lead to win the game.

Displaying a great scoring touch, Alek Zultowski got the hat trick with three goals and also three assists. Salem's Jason Newel made two goals for Salem. Adam Marthaler and Jake Fedel each contributed one goal for Salem.

Salem's Anthony Veresan had just 24 saves on 29 shots to gain the win. Two goaltenders were used by Howell for the loss. Howell's Chris Julian had just 14 saves on 21 shots to get the loss. Howell's Patrick Baldwin stopped seven shots.

Adding to their victory, Salem was 3-for-6 on power plays.

Salem extended their winning streak to 11 games and ended up with a record of 17 wins and 6 losses. Howell finished the game with a record of 8 wins and 11 losses.
