Livonia Churchill relies on defense to win on the road

Livonia Churchill beat Saline SEC 5 - 1 at Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Saturday. Livonia Churchill outscored Saline SEC two to one to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. Livonia Churchill gained one goal in the second period and held on to its lead. Saline SEC were not able to answer back. In the final period Livonia Churchill scored two goals cementing the lead and winning the game.

In the first period, Livonia Churchill's Nick Misiak put the biscuit over the goal line with 16:52 left in the period. Evan Gibboney and Brad Milks got the assists on the goal. Livonia Churchill never looked back. Piling on, Tommy Carey got a goal with assists from Matt Sinclair and Luke Otto, with 12:19 left on the clock, pulling further ahead. Saline SEC answered back when Tyler Palka lit the lamp with assists from Ethan Peitz and Tyler Baker, with 9:36 left in the period. In the second period, Livonia Churchill answered back when Matt Sinclair netted a goal with 11:25 left in the period. Tommy Carey and Evan Gibboney got the assists on the goal, to go further ahead. In the third period, firing from the blue line, Livonia Churchill's Evan Gibboney put the puck in the net with assists from Riley Brown and Brad Milks with 6:12 left in the period, to get further in the lead. Livonia Churchill kept going when Sam Spayd put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Dylan Smith and Brad Milks, with 1:51 left in the period, to move further ahead.

Tyler Palka added one goal for Saline SEC.

Saline SEC's Chris Kreuger had just 21 saves on 26 shots and so suffered the loss.

Livonia Churchill ended the game with a record of 6-4. Saline SEC ended the game with a record of 6-8.
