In a tight contest, Saginaw Heritage handed a loss to Freeland/Nouvel/Valley 5 - 3 at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena on Saturday. Saginaw Heritage outscored Freeland/Nouvel/Valley four to two to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley added one goal in the second period but failed to take the lead. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's fate was sealed. In the final period Saginaw Heritage scored one goal padding its lead and winning the game.

Freeland/Nouvel/Valley's Brandon Hausbeck had just 33 saves on 38 shots to suffer the loss.

Saginaw Heritage ended up with a record of 8-2. Freeland/Nouvel/Valley finished the game with a record of 17-4.
