Canton Chiefs strong on D to get the win on the road

Defenses slugged it out, but Canton Chiefs beat Berkley Unified 2 - zip at Berkley Arena on Wednesday. Canton Chiefs tallied up two straight goals to take the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Canton Chiefs held on to its lead. The Canton Chiefs defense took over in the final period. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Canton Chiefs held on to its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Canton Chiefs got things going when Ian Fagan put the puck in the net with an assist from Colin Smith, with 17:37 left on the clock. This was the nail in the coffin for Berkley Unified. Maintaining the penalty kill pressure, Fagan yet again scored another goal with an assist from Christian Flack with 1:22 left in the period, to get further in the lead.

Canton Chiefs added to their current win streak of two games and now has a record of 7-16. Berkley Unified ended the game with a record of 18-6.
