Brendan Jacques nails the hat trick while Calumet Copper Kings looks to the defense to prevail

Calumet Copper Kings beat Marquette Redmen 5 - 2 at Calumet Colosseum on Thursday. Marquette Redmen scored one goal to take the lead in the first period. Both teams racked up one goal in the second period but Marquette Redmen maintained their lead. Marquette Redmen was ahead two to one, if only they could hold on. Calumet Copper Kings rallied in the final period with four unanswered goals, to grab the win.

Turning in a great performance for Calumet Copper Kings, Brendan Jacques got the hat trick with four goals and also had one point. Lucas Lahnala contributed one goal for Calumet Copper Kings.

Showing off a strong glove, Calumet Copper Kings's Brian Rogers made 25 saves to gain the win. Marquette Redmen's Evan Kyle had only 20 saves on 25 shots on goal for the loss.

Calumet Copper Kings was 2-for-4 on power plays. Marquette Redmen went 0-for-3.

Marquette Redmen ended the game with a record of 0-7.
