In overtime, Traverse City Central was superior against Sault Ste Marie 7 - 6 at Howe Arena on Tuesday. Sault Ste Marie outscored Traverse City Central five to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. In the second period, Traverse City Central outscored their opponents by one goal however Sault Ste Marie kept its lead. Sault Ste Marie was on top six to three, with Traverse City Central's work cut out for them in the third period. Rallying, Traverse City Central went to work and evened up the score in the third period with three straight goals sending the game into OT. In the overtime, Traverse City Central scored one unanswered goal winning the tight contest.
